I’m from Cincinnati, and grew up in a big household. Academically I will be graduating from the University of Dayton with a B.A. in History and a double minor in Sociology and Philosophy. Afterwards, I desire to work in Japan for 2 years as an ESL teacher, before coming back to the U.S for law school.

Personally I like to travel the world, try new foods, dance, and sleep. My hobbies are reading and learning as much history as I can, and my favorite people in the world are my nieces and nephew.

This class has been interesting. While I’m from the neighboring city and have been going to school in Dayton for 4 years, I knew almost nothing about Dayton before taking it. Learning about the arcade meant essentially learning about the city, and it has thus been illuminating-both because I realized how I often fail to take into account the history of things close to me, and because I now know how interesting those things can be. For example, searching through the Wright State Archives for information on the Arcade, our group found pictures of a female police force that resided partially near the arcade. It was particularly hard determining whether or not to include this in our research, and although fascinating we decided ultimately not to. This being said, I still learned something interesting about Dayton itself.
