About Tim Berardino

Hello! My name is Timothy Berardino. I am from Fairfield, Connecticut. Currently, I am a senior at the University of Dayton studying History. These last 4 years have been all I could ask for and more. Starting with the friends I’ve made, to the classes, faculty, and experiences; Dayton has truly been the home away from home that I was looking for when I graduated high school. As of right now, I am looking to go into marketing. I’ve always loved history which was why I decided to major in it, however being in marketing or advertising is something that fits me very well, and I also believe the skills I have learned from studying history have me prepared for the competitive world of marketing and advertising.

Outside of school, work, and looking for a job, I love to have fun. Whether thats just hanging out and playing games with my friends, playing sports, especially basketball and volleyball, watching sports, listening to music, getting food, or just playing video games. I always make sure I have to time to have fun and enjoy life, because in the end thats what life is all about. Dayton has provided me the perfect mix of fun and work, and these experiences have prepared me for my next chapter in life better than any other school or place.

My goals have grown over the last year, but I know what I want to do with my life, so far. My first goal coming out of college is to secure a position in sales, as a sales consultant. I believe sales experience is a great way to introduce myself to the business world. Following that, depending on how well it goes and how much I enjoy it, I will look to go into marketing. Marketing is something I have always found to be good at, and I find working on a creative team to try and design a marketing plan that works is incredibly rewarding.

I found this class to be incredibly insightful. I enjoyed it because it was a break from the usual history class that revolved around simply writing a paper. It was a full class effort, working together almost like a job. Although my experience was not like the rest of my classmates regarding the interview process and using the recording devices, the research and transcribing I learned how to do was incredibly fascinating as well as learning how to look at microfilm. The microfilm was really unique because of how you put it in, and shuffled through it; looking at old news papers by itself is cool, but using microfilm made it cooler.
